swiss chard

I got some swiss chard at the farmers market the other day. My mom and the guy that sold it to me told me a recipe for it. So here it goes

Wash your swiss chard really good and then chop it up. I chopped up a fresh onion and added it to my chard. Next, cook the chard and onion in some olive oil. I added some salt and at the end put a little vinegar and brown sugar. Yumm!

Blaine

Little Blaine got an award for reading 25 books. He had read 49 books just shy of 50. Love that little boy. Made it through the crazy weather last night. Got us thinking about buying a storm shelter. It was so scary last night and the tornado was not that far from us.

Teacher bags

I got this idea off of tater tots and jello blog. I did not do it exactly like hers though. Mine is glued on felt fabric and I blinged mine up a bit. I started on one for me tonight but it has yellow hair.

Bang!

What a night of some thunder here in Moore Oklahoma. My dear boys and I were sleeping in the living room on the floor. My little guys are a bit afraid of thunder so we set up camp in the living room. At 5am we all heard the loudest bang I have ever heard. Then we here fire trucks 10 minutes later. Lightening hit my next door neighbors house. There was a fire on the top of their house. So here are some very bad pics of what went on.

What did we do on this beautiful Sunday day......well we got in the back of the truck while hubby drove us around the block twice. It is the little things :) Who needs Six Flags.

Happy Mother's Day!

What a day. I did my usual routine of getting up when the kids get up and getting them ready. Walk by my still sleeping husband as I pick up dirty clothes to put in the washer. Then, I think about how my kids need to eat something healthy today. So I stuff a banana down them and some toast. Walk by my sleeping husband to hang up clothes from the dryer. My hubby then wakes up and realizes that he might need to do something so he helps with the kids bath. I take the boys to church and then the most amazing thing happened....Logan's Sunday school teacher tells me that Logan started crying for me. What? My little guy seriously has never ever cried for me. Instead of being sad I was happy. He loves me! It was the greatest moment. Got home, went to the store, and then made lunch. Went to my mom and dads to give my mom her present. Came home put another load of laundry in and cleaned up all the little toys. Oh and while I was at church my husband weed-eated. How nice huh? You see I usually do this little task. My advise to myself is not to expect a Hollywood story of a husband making you breakfast and treating you like the queen. For some reason I can't understand that. I am very blessed for Gods gift to me. I love my family and wouldn't want it any other way. Love you boys and love you mom. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO EVERYONE!

Mothers day

Happy almost Mothers day. We watched The Middle last night and I have to say it hit the nail on the head. OMG I am so that mom on there. All she wanted for Mother's day was to be left alone. So, her hubby did just that and took all three kids with him. She was so pumped to read her magazines but she needed her glasses....but when she went to go get her glasses she saw things that needed to get done. Poor mom ended up all day doing work. Well, when her family got back from a great day of going to a amusement park she started to cry. They ended up doing a re-do of the park for her Mother's day but nothing went right. In the end she said she felt guilty when she was with her kids and guilty when she wasn't. She then asked her hubby if he understood and of course he said I never feel guilty. The mom then said well then why do you guys even get a day. I love it. I am so that mom! Guilt is such a mean mean thing.

Teacher gift

This week is teacher appreciation week. We have been giving gifts daily for my son's teacher. I went to one of my favorite junk stores this morning to try to find a flower vase. This junk store is seriously junky but I love it so. I found the perfect vase for $4! Score! I also bought a milk glass vase for my collection of milk glass for $1.25. I boogied down to wally world to get some $5 flowers and put them in my vase. So pretty! Tomorrow is also my son's Spring class party. I am not the homeroom mom this year so I was asked just to bring something sweet. My son loves double doozie cookies, so I made them for the party.

Wow, flowers are not cheap. So, instead of buying individual flowers I saw these at Walmart. I just love them. They were about $15 each. Also, I must so you a picture of my little guy. He loves to dress up everyday to pick his brother up. Everyone at the school knows "hat boy".

I just got done reading this book. It is another really good book. It makes you realize how truly blessed you are.
