My hubby has a good friend at work that is having a baby. We got him a stroller that was in a huge ugly box. I wanted to wrap it all over but by the time I bought all the wrapping paper it would have been $10. I decided to try to make a huge bow on top so I didn't have to wrap that part. So here is the present. Also, I made some yummy chocolate covered strawberries for the baby shower. These bows are really easy to make. I liked how it turned out.

lots of salt...lots of butter....CORN
Back when my grandparents were living and life was simple for me we would shuck corn. Around July 4th the whole family would go to grandma and grandpa's farm. There we would pick the corn and shuck it under the shade tree. Sounds like a movie now that I think of it. It was the best time of summer. It is a good thing that it wasn't a movie because the way they/I ate the corn was a bit crazy. The night of the corn shucking we would all gather around the table and go to town on corn. That is all we had to eat and it was all we wanted. The drive home was always the best to hear my dad talk about my mom's family eating the corn. You see they ate and never looked up. It was crunch, crunch, and more crunch. I am very proud to be a Dawkin's corn eater. I miss those times on the farm...worms in the corn and all.
Daddy is home....finally!
First of all I have to address the nice sound of thunder at 6:30 this morning. Boys came running out like there was a murderer in their room.
Ryan my hubby works so hard. He has a 2nd job that doesn't bring him home until 8pm sometimes later. I had to take a pic of what it looks like when he finally comes home. We are so blessed to have a hardworking daddy!

City garden did what???
Yep that's right my garden made these awesome veggies. I cut up my zucchini and squash into a bowl. I mixed some cornmeal, flower, and garlic salt and sprinkled it on top of my cut up veggies. Leave it in the bowl for at least 30 minutes. Then I just fried the little suckers. Perfection! My garden and flowers are my therapy this year. I love getting new rose bushes.

USA Party
My little guy is turning 7 on Thursday and we decided to have his party early before July 4th weekend. My soon to be 7 year old loves to learn about the states and is down right smart. I couldn't be prouder of him and his smartness so I was happy to do a USA party. It was so easy to find decorations since the 4th is around the corner. Dollar Tree is my go to place. I didn't do a whole lot this year because well it's too hot! Plus it was just for his little friends and him so I knew they didn't care about all the decorations.
