Baby room stuff
Today I went to Hobby Lobby and looked around to see what I could put in my sister in law's baby room. I get to decorate it so I have been searching for ideas.
Here is a few...(I may not keep the picture frame thing)
This is it after I got done. I put cute paper in the drawers and we took off those ugly wheels too.
May not keep this because I am not sure this is part of the colors she wants...but I got the material for like a $1 so I thought what the heck. I love that material
We are making white shelfs and I thought these little guys would be cute by them.
This will be on the wall....If only the room was at my house so I could be working on it now.
This lamp is staying here but I LOVE IT! I got it for $29 at Marshalls and I think it would also be very cute in little baby Corbin's room...(Marilyn Ann we should go get this ;)

Kolache Festival
I am so excited to FINALLY go to the Kolache Festival next Saturday. My momma is from Prague and I a pretty sure we will have a blast.
Kolache Capital of Oklahoma
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The history of our city began in 1891, and on May 19, 2004, our city was 102 years old. Many changes have been made but the atmosphere of a pleasant community still remains. In 1891 four Indian Reservations were opened to settlement. A group of Czech people were among the pioneers who made the Land Run of the Sac and Fox Reservation land. There are still descendants of these families living in Prague: Barta, Eret, Vlasak, Bonty, Simek and many others. Our city is located on the southeast corner of Lincoln County. The land on which it is built originally belonged to Frank Barta and Anton Simek. In 1902 the Townsite Company bought this land. Neighborhood centers were soon established where the essential staple groceries could be purchased. Crude methods of transportation without roads made it necessary for a railroad system. The Fort Smith & Western was looking for a
place to put a coal chute. Their first choice was 2 miles East of Prague, but Mr. Lee Watts placed a much higher price on the land that the railroad was willing to pay. Needless to say, it was welcomed by the settlers in the Czech community. The Townsite Company gave the right of way to land on which the coal chute could be built. The remaining land was the widely advertised. The lots for business sold from $200 to $600 per lot. Resident lots sold for much less. The town was on its way and Mrs. Eva Barta was given the honor of naming it. She immediately called it Praha, in remembrance of her home in the Old Country. Later Squire Vlaska changed the name to Prague. Prague can boast of having one of the cleanest and neatest cities in our part of the state. The population is approximately 2,500 with a trade area of 3, 200. The Fire Department is a volunteer group. a trade area of 3, 200. The Fire Department is a volunteer group. There are two city trucks, four rural trucks, a tanker, a Rescue Boat, and the emergency rescue unit that transports the Jaws of Life. The Ambulance Service is also city operated. It is equipped with life saving equipment and staffed by employees trained to give emergency care. A few years ago, Prague was faced with the possibility of losing its hospital. Realizing the importance of this facility, the people voted to buy the hospital. Since that time, many improvements have been made to modernize the hospital. There is now a new operating suite, new x-ray equipment, offices for three doctors and one dentist. Beautiful new rooms have been added upstairs to accommodate more patients. Prague has two banks both occupying new buildings. People from surrounding towns use the Prague banking facilities. The banks are equipped with the newest computer

There are sixteen churches in town, all sowing improvement in size and appearance. People like this atmosphere and are constantly moving here from the cities to enjoy a more peaceful place in which to raise their families. Prague is proud to
announce plans for a new library. The Haynie Public Library should be open in late 2006. The school has approximately 1000 students this year. Many honors have been added to the school by the efficient work of its pupils. Construction was completed in 1998 on the new auditorium at the Middle School complex. The town feels the young people to be its greatest asset. Farming still ranks high as a major industry. Many beautiful farms and ranches can be seen while driving through the country. Peanuts are a major crop along with alfalfa, wheat and pecans. Registered swine and cattle are also in abundance. many breeders in this area have won many trophies with their stock. This helps and encourages the FFA towards greater goals. To sum up our town is rather hard to do. We have many things to offer and are proud of them. Visitors are always welcome in our city. They will find Prague centrally located from Oklahoma's largest cities. We are 50 miles east from Oklahoma City and approximately 65 miles southwest from Tulsa. We are 7 miles north of I-40 and 18 miles south of Turner Turnpike. Highways 62 and I-377 run through Prague.

DONUTS!
My husband told me a long time ago that he loved his mom's donuts. I thought I could do that...I am the perfect wife. I asked him how she made them and he had no idea so....I made them from scratch and it took me a long time. I watched him as he tried my hard working donut and I could tell these were not his momma's donuts. Come to find out she made them from canned biscuits!!! Are you kidding me??? I must say they are very GOOD and my boys love them.
All you do is open your can biscuits and make a little hole with your finger...you fry them is some oil.
I make the icing with powdered sugar and some milk. For the chocolate ones I just add some chocolate syrup. Tomorrow I am tackling crepes..thank you arts festival!

Oeufs En Cocotte A La Creme
(eggs baked in ramekins)
1/2 tsp butter
2 Tb of heavy cream (I used cheese sauce with some milk added)
1 egg for each ramekin
salt and pepper
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
choose a poreclain or fireproof glass dish 2 1/2 to 3 inches in diameter and about 1 1/2 inch deep.
Arrange in a pan containing 3/4 inch of water and set over over a burner; bring water to a simmer.
Place all but a dot of butter in the ramekin; add a tablespoon of cream, and break in the egg. When egg white has begun to coagulate in bottom of ramekin, add the remaining spoonful of cream, seasonings, and the dot of butter. Place in lower third of preheated oven and bake for 7 to 8 minutes. The eggs are done when they are set. Season with salt and pepper..yummy

My bedroom
I have been working on my bedroom for about a month now. Yesterday I worked on the light fixture. I really wanted a new one but 1. no money 2.husband wanted to keep an ugly fan cause he gets hot. So, I decided to spray paint our old one and I really liked how it turned out. We also painted the dressers.
My little 5 year old is now starting to read and I am very impressed with him. I went to the library yesterday and got a book for first readers and he read it! I helped a little but my goodness I don't think I was anywhere close to where he is now. Off to garage sales! Almost got a dresser off of craigslist for my sister in law but they sold it before I could come and look at it. boo!

ice cream party
My little baby turned 3. I made him a ice cream party since he loves ice cream so much. Here are some pics. I did make those cute little ice cream cone cupcakes. It was very easy. All you have to do is get ice cream cones and put a cupcake upside down on it and then stick another mini cupcake upside down on the top of the big cupcake. Next ice it and put sprinkles on it.

my new coffee table!
My most exciting DIY yet. I have been wanting a coffee table forever but the ones I wanted were about $500 which I don't have the money for. I decided to do it on my own with a ton of help from Ry. I have been looking for an old coffee table forever but the ones I found on craigslist were still $60. I found this one on craigslist for $15 and HAD to have it. I painted it black and then we put foam on it. Next, we took the batting and stapled it to the bottom of the coffee table. We did the same with the fabric. Now, I have to get some scotch guard so my little guys don't mess it up.

Yesterday I made taquitos and they were awesome. I made up the recipe and just put whatever I had in it.
Taquitos
1 red onion chopped
2 medium red potatoes cut in pieces
2 cooked chicken breast
1 red bell pepper
1 lime
hot pepper sauce (as much as you want)
salt and pepper to taste
package of corn tortillas
Saute the red onion, potatoes, bell pepper, and chicken breast until the vegetable are tender. Squeeze the lime and hot pepper sauce cook for another 5 minutes. Take two forks and shred the chicken. Microwave the corn tortillas for 1 minute in microwave. Take a spoon full of the mixture and put it in center of tortilla. Roll it up and secure it with tooth picks. Fill your frying pan about 1/4 with oil and fry the taquitos.
